SPCC 36 - Soccer Layout

I am finding that Challenge blogs are really helping to get me scrapping again...and I have found another one Scrapmaster's Paradise Colour Combos.

Here is this weeks Colour combo:

And my entry:

This is the first half of a double page of my second son Ben and his first year at Soccer.
I have stamped Mellow Moss cardstock with the Seeing Spots Stamp Set in Mellow Moss ink to make my background paper. I have also sponged over a pale yellow sheet of Bella Bleu DSP with Barely Banana Ink.

Here is a close up of the cute little guy from the All in the Family Stamp Set and the soccer ball from the Family Favourites stamp set.
My journalling was printed on Whisper White card and then sponged with Barely Banana and adhered to a Top Note template from the SU website that I had printed on Barely Banana.

Happy stamping
Lisa

JAI5 Sports Nut

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is to:

Just Add DIMENSION

Stamp it, colour it, dye it, punch it, stick it on, stand it up - it's up to you!
Your creation can be a card, scrapbooking LO or a 3D project.
The most important thing is to
THINK OUTSIDE THE SQUARE

So here is my entry...a scrap page of my eldest Zac and his sport obsession. My husband and I joke that he only goes to School for the sporting opportunities.

Most of my scrap pages have dimension but the ways I have added extra dimension to this page are:

* I have heat embossed some of my images which adds some great depth.

* I have also used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up some of my squares on the layout.

* Ink the edges. I have used my Black Stazon ink to edge everything on the page including my photo. Swiping the edges of your photo with Black Stazon adds great depth (especially when you are not matting your photo).

I have gone for a bit of a grungy look with all the black ink on the page. I am not quite sure about all the crazy sponging around my title ...maybe it will grown on me. I traced around a template of a Top Note die from the Stampin' Up website using my Black Stampin' Write Journaller around my title as well.

I used some of the stamps from the Just Rugby and Just Cricket sets for a random border stamped with Black Stazon across the bottom of my page. These stamp sets are just perfect for scrapbooking and making cards for my boys.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the awesome entries at Just Add Ink.

February Technique Club

My monthly Technique Club has started up again and this time around I am teaching different card folds.
We started this month with an Easel Card. These cards are gorgeous as they stand up but fold flat for postage. We made our cards using a 12" by 4" piece of cardstock.
Here is the side on view of the card:

And a closer view of the card front.

Even though the Club has started I still have room for another two ladies so if you are in the Tamworth area and interested in a fun night of craft once a month please contact me for more details.
Thanks for stopping by.

SAM Challenge 4

The Stamp-a-Memory challenge this time around is to use black and white plus one other colour of your choice.

I chose Pink (Pink Pirouette to be precise). Once again I have used one of my sister-in-law Shelley Wendt's gorgeous photos, this time of my youngest niece Miss Briannah.

Here is my entry:

I stamped and heat embossed a corner detail using the Frames with a Flourish Stamp set.

I used 3 different sizes of circle punches to make my flowers. The punched circles were crumpled and sponged with Pink Pirouette ink before being adhered together with dimensionals. I used white half-pearls from the Pretties Kit for the centre of my flowers.

I made my black and white background paper using the Damask stamp from the Friends 24-7 stamp set. I used my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig so that I could stamp the images fairly evenly. Leaving the stamp-a-ma-jig in place also meant if my image didn't stamp clearly I could re-stamp before moving it (and yes that happened several times).

I had a lot of fun with this challenge and I adore this photo of Briannah - pretty and wild at the same time.

Just Add Ink Challenge 3

Hi all,

I just realised that I hadn't shared my entry for the 3rd Just Add Ink Challenge.

I missed the deadline for this one but I am really pleased with how my card turned out.

It was a sketch challenge:

And here is my card:

I have used the Good Friend Stamp Set stamped on the back of my patterned paper and cut out so that I could paper piece the little birdy. He is such a cutie.

The sentiment has been stamped then punched out with the large oval and layered onto the scallop oval and curvy label punch (hello my name is Lisa and I am a punch-a-holic lol).

Happy Stamping

Stamp a Memory Scrapbook Challenge 3

Some Australian Stampin' Up! Demos have got together to create a blog dedicated to using Stampin' Up! products in our scrapbooks. Go check it out here and they have some pretty cool ideas and gorgeous samples.

Each month they also host a challenge. This month the challenge is to use the word "Love" in your layout. Click here to see the challenge post.

I have also used a fantastic sketch for my layout by Rachel Ricks over at the Scrappy Side. She has some fantastic layouts on her site. Here is the link to the sketch I used.

And here is my layout:

I loved the little clouds Rachel used on her sample layout so I have used them here to. Thanks for the inspiration Rachel.

Here is a close up of some of the detail:

Deb Godley took these super cute photos of Sam for me and I absolutely love them (and the little munchkin of course). Thanks Deb!

Just Add Ink Challenge 4

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is a colour challenge.

At first I was a little hesitant about the colour choices...none of my favourite Designer Series Papers came in these colours so I was a little stumped until I discovered a sheet of Bella Bleu paper that had a soft yellow swirl on it. When I sponged this paper with More Mustard Ink I was delighted with the effect it produced and that became the pleated feature of my layout.

Here are some close ups:

For the script flowers, I stamped onto the Bella Bleu DSP with the En Francais Background stamp in Basic Gray ink. I then punched out scalloped circles and scrunched them before adding to my layout. I was inspired by the vintage book paper I have seen used elsewhere but I wanted a more scrapbook friendly version.

The double stitched ribbon makes it so easy to create a ruffled look on your page. I have just pulled the stitching tight and secured at the back of the ribbon.

Here is a closeup of the sponged DSP. I was so happy with how this looked. I can't wait to try it out again on some of my least favourite papers.

Photo credits for the gorgeous photo of my niece Tammisha go to my sister-in-law Shelley Wendt. She takes the most amazing photos.

Thanks for stopping by

My mum snapped these pics of hubby and I at my brother's New Years Eve bbq. I love how casual and happy we look together.

I am really loving my heart punches at the moment. Actually I love all my punches.
